“It matters not how long we live but how.” – Philip James Bailey
“large goals are great, but not without a purpose. Purpose or vision is the why. It is never ending. Goals are measurable objectives to meet or achieve. Being goal oriented without a purpose results in burnout. Know your why:
Wow, there are so many avenues one could start walking down, however, what hit me the hardest when I read this was the first 3 questions.
Why are you living… I am living because I want to serve, love, and help people. I want to be a living Bible to those who cannot read. I want to have a loving healthy relationship with my future husband and I want to raise strong healthy children. I am living because I want to help teenagers and women see their simple beauty inside and out by sharing my life story and being a living example to them.
What is the point… The point of living for me is to pay forward 100 times over what has been given to me. The point of living for me is to glorify the one who made me with my life and to be the best I can be in all that I do.
Are you living just to survive… This question was powerful for me, because as I reflect on it, I used to live just to survive. Previously every day for me was a chore to wake up and face the day, I was centered on myself and my happiness or lack thereof. At that point in my life I did not have a why to my life or a point or goal in sight. I just woke up praying I could make it through the day… until I realized that I could actually create my life and not let my life create me. Now I live to serve, love, laugh, sing, dance, hug, kiss, smile, cry, give and receive, and honor the one who created me.
I challenge everyone today to look at these 5 questions and answer them honestly… where are you? Are you surviving or are you living?
Have a terrific Tuesday Everyone!!!
