“For we are His workmanship” Ephesians 2:10
I just recently moved and found a journal that I had written in and stumbled across this entry;
As I walked along the beach this evening after dinner and I looked for shells, I prayed; “Lord, please help me find the perfect shell and sand dollar.” As I walked along I began to see so many shells. I have never ever seen so many spread out in one place on all of my trips to Galveston. As I continued walking I began thinking, or the Lord began speaking, “There are so many shells, thousands, all different in color, shape and size. Some are broken, some whole, some with deformities, some with odd lines and formations, however what is a perfect shell? A shell that is whole, without any deformities; or one that is a little banged up. Is a red shell more perfect than a blue shell? What is perfect? Is there a perfect shell?“ I felt the Lord saying, “Rebekah, there is no perfect shell, no shell is better than any other. All of these shells are unique and designed by me. Just as many shells as there are on this one stretch of beach so are there people. There are no perfect people, you Rebekah, are not perfect and you never will be, but you are unique, a unique shell different than others. Perhaps you are a little banged up or chipped but all the more unique and beautiful. Stop striving for perfection, I don’t want you perfect and neither does anyone else. A few nicks and chips mean you have a story to share with the world around you. Be joyful, because I made you and no one else did. You are precious to me! You may have been chipped in the past by hurts and things others have done, but I can repair and bind those cracks and chips. Live for Me and live to be the person I made you to be. You are precious to me.” You’re heavenly Father.
God made me, he made you and there is no one else on this earth as unique as you. You are a child of the King and you are precious to Him. We may have been chipped in the past by people and experiences but God can repair and bind the chips and cracks.
Can you love your cracks, nicks and deformities and use them to share with others?
Can you accept the love of others?
HAVE A SUPER DAY!
