“I am Me. In all the world, there is no one else exactly like me. Everything that comes out of me is authentically mine, because I alone chose it” -Virginia Satir
Recently I went on an amazing 5 day journey of relationship building and self-development. I realized that it is not every one else in the world that holds me back, it is I. How many times a day do I look in the mirror and find everything that is wrong with me, or how many times do I beat myself up because I did not do something I wanted to? I will admit I do this to myself multiple times a day, and it results in a feeling of unworthiness and lovableness. The love and gifts I have been given to share with others I have held back because I was not able to give them to myself first, therefore I could not share with the world. What I realized through the help of an amazing team is that I am worthy of love and relationships. On our last day of my journey with 54 other people, I had to stand in front of a group of people and declare my worthiness in front of them. That was one of the hardest things for me to do and I struggled through every step of it because I had little belief in myself. Life is not easy and Christ never said it would be, however, the rewards and gifts we can share with one another are endless. The amazing thing is, there never will be another Rebekah, I am the only one! Read that again, you are the only you! There has never been and will never be another person just like you. That is pretty amazing!!!
In the Psalms it says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” - Psalm 134:13&14(NIV) Christ made me, He made you, He loves me and He loves you. God has given me life and I choose to live for Him, but I first have to accept and love the Rebekah He has made me into.
I have resolved to change what I tell myself when I look in the mirror. Every morning when I wake up, I thank God for another day I am alive and then I say, “I am an abundant, worthy, confident woman.” When I get ready in the morning and I am putting on my makeup I make a choice to not criticize myself. When I put my clothes on for the day I chose to not point out every place I think I could release weight. I look at my body and say thank you for keeping me alive another day.
It all comes down to the choices we make each day. Are you going to build yourself up and build others up in the process, or do you choose to tear yourself down and bring others down with you?
I choose to live an abundant, worthy and confident life. What qualities do you choose to step into this day?
Have a super day!

“I am Me. In all the world, there is no one else exactly like me. Everything that comes out of me is authentically mine, because I alone chose it — I own everything about me: my body, my feelings, my mouth, my voice, all my actions, whether they be to others or myself. I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears. I own my triumphs and successes, all my failures and mistakes. Because I own all of me, I can become intimately acquainted with me. By so doing, I can love me and be friendly with all my parts. I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me, and other aspects that I do not know — but as long as I am friendly and loving to myself, I can courageously and hopefully look for solutions to the puzzles and ways to find out more about me. However I look and sound, whatever I say and do, and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is authentically me. If later some parts of how I looked, sounded, thought, and felt turn out to be unfitting, I can discard that which is unfitting, keep the rest, and invent something new for that which I discarded. I can see, hear, feel, think, say, and do. I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive, and to make sense and order out of the world of people and things outside of me. I own me, and therefore, I can engineer me. I am me, and I am Okay.” - Virginia Satir
